The children put their map skills to the test, exploring the forest with confidence and curiosity. They loved going on a minibeast hunt, carefully searching for tiny creatures and learning all about their habitats.

Most of all, it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the great outdoors—running, exploring, and discovering together. A brilliant day full of learning, laughter, and fresh air!

From fascinating experiments to brilliant problem solving, it was fantastic to see so many young scientists thinking carefully, working together, and having fun while learning. A huge well done to all of our pupils for their enthusiasm and fantastic scientific thinking!

Thank you to Dr Brydon and Mr Zatsepin for their engaging talks in the classrooms - really pushing our children to think and question scientifically.

Each entry reflected unique perspectives, memories, and feelings about life at Highfield—making the showcase a wonderful celebration of creativity, community, and school pride.

A huge congratulations to our competition winners, whose outstanding artwork captured the theme beautifully, and a big well done to every student who took part. Your creativity and effort made this event so special! We are incredibly proud of the artistic talent within our Highfield community.

The course involved learning to control and master the bike, starting and pedaling, stopping, maneuvering, signaling, and using the gears.

A brilliant experience that really brought history to life and helped deepen their learning. Well done, Year 4!

We were especially proud of the children who shared about their own family members in the Armed Forces — past and present. Their courage, pride, and personal stories made the assembly truly meaningful.

Today we were delighted to welcome Gregory Stafford MP to our school! Our School Council put him through his paces with some brilliant and thoughtful questions about education, local issues, and life as an MP — they really didn’t hold back!

Mr Stafford then enjoyed a tour of the school with our Headteacher, seeing our wonderful classrooms and learning spaces in action.

He also took time to discuss the traffic challenges around the school, learning more about how these affect our pupils and families each day.

Well done to our wonderful gardening club, the PTFA for their efforts on the woodland area, the teachers and parents that have helped water plants and build flower beds and a special mention to Miss Grew, Mrs Campbell, Mrs Jeffery and Mrs Reyer.

A big thank you to Miss Grew and Mrs Reyer the gardening club leads.

Kylie put the school through a high-intensity interval training workout and the gave a talk on how she became an athlete and her journey to winning Paralympic gold.

The children were excited to see the gold medal she won at the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo part of the mixed-event wheelchair rugby. She became the first-ever woman in the sport to receive a gold medal.

The school raised £4399.53 from the session which will go towards sports equipment.
