Trips and Visits
We take every opportunity to explore our local environment both within the school grounds and beyond. These educational activities and visits give the children valuable first-hand experience and expand their world.
Our trips and local visits programme at Highfield is reviewed regularly and has included; RHS Wisley, Marwell Zoo, Butser Farm, Farnham Museum, The Lookout, The Gilbert White Field Studies Centre and Fishbourne Roman Palace.
We also arrange workshops within school, linked to the learning across the curriculum. Visits from the Science dome, Florence Nightingale have captured the imaginations of the pupils. Drumming workshops and dance workshops and robotics workshops open up opportunities for everyone to try new things.

Residential Trips
The school also runs three very sucessful residential trips during the school year for Years 4-6.
Year Four
Year Four spend the day on an in house residential camping over night in the school field. This is a unique oppurtunity for children to explore being on a residential trip whilst in the famililar surroundings of their school. Activities include woodland lessons from the ranger, teamwork challenges, arts and crafts ending in marshmallow toasting around the campfire.
Year Five
Year Five camp out at Badminton Woods in the Cotswolds. The trip is full of fun and excitement with a lot of activities to keep children learning and active. Immersed in the surroundings of beautiful British woodland, the children embrace the wilderness, from sleeping in yurts and eating under the leafy canopy to taking part in activities such as shelter building, wild cooking, camouflaging, trap making, exploring the environment and learning about life in the great outdoors.

Year Six
Year Six enjoy a residential visit to Grittleton House in Wiltshire. This trip gives children a range of challenges demanding different combinations of team work and independent involvement. Designed to develop transferable skills, encourage collaboration and build confidence, activities include body zorbs, low ropes and physical agility tasks. Bringing the groups together for some fun before bed time with night hikes, campfires and a celebration evening. This week provides valuble time for pupils to make lasting memories with their friends before moving onto secondary school.
