Trips and Visits
We take every opportunity to explore our local environment both within the school grounds and beyond. These educational activities and visits give the children valuable first-hand experience and expand their world.
Over the past few years Highfield pupils have enjoyed trips to Wisley Gardens, Marwell Zoo, Aldershot Military Museum, Farnham and Haslemere Museums and Fishbourne Roman Palace. We have also visited London to see the city’s museums and HMS Belfast as well as experience the theatre productions in the West End.
We also arrange workshops within school, linked to the learning across the curriculum. Visits from Birdworld, Anglo-Saxon warriors, Florence Nightingale and Roman soldiers have captured the imaginations of the pupils. Drumming workshops and Dance workshops open up opportunities for everyone to try new things.
The cost of school visits and workshops within the school day is met by the school. However, we do ask for 'voluntary contributions' whenever these trips take place. If there are insufficient contributions, then the trip may have to be cancelled.
